Vtg Mid Century Turquoise Capiz Shell Hanging Swag Lamp 60 Teak Wood Top 1960

Fabulous Turquoise Blue Capiz Shell Hanging Lamp! This is an original from the 1960's. The top is a thick and sturdy piece of teak or teak stained wood with rings in it. All the strings of shells are threaded through small holes in the top and held in place by a small yellow bead.

Our lamp measures 60 long from the wood top piece to the bottom. There is a cord that goes down through the center and has 3 bakelite sockets for the bulbs, which are strategically placed. There is also a switch on the cord to turn the lights off and on.

I've taken photos inside and outside with the lights off and on. There is one strand of shells missing, but no one will ever notice, because there are so many strings. (each yellow bead in the photo of the top is a string of shells) There is also one strand that was loose in the box along with the bead. I have it in a baggie with the yellow bead, so you will have to tie it back up on the top.

There maybe some small chips or pieces off some of the shells, but nothing that distracts from its beauty. I've wiped the lamp down, but it may need a bit more cleaning. The lights all worked fine, but you may want to have the wire and sockets checked, because they are old. Thank you and good luck!
