Vtg. MCM Ribbed Smoked Glass Globe withDiffuser Hanging Pendant Swag Lamp withChain

Up for sale is a nice vintage 1970's swag lamp in excellent condition. I completely disassembled the lamp and made necessary repairs to the wiring so everything works as it should. There was originally a switch in the top housing of the lamp which I removed because it no longer functioned (see picture w/ switch hole). I replaced that with a new in line cord switch. Inspected the globe, diffuser, chain and cord. After 2 hours of cleaning, she looks like a million bucks. The only damage I found was a small chip located at the bottom of the glass diffuser (see close-up).

When lamp is fully assembled, you don't even see it. The original finish is in great condition with some areas showing its age. I do not see any surface rust. I did not like the diffuser resting on the bottom metal housing, so I created some gaskets made of thin cardboard and foam padding for separation. I also did not like the diffuser banging against the top and bottom openings of the globe.

So, I used a thin strip of foam padding to keep the glass diffuser centered in the openings of the globe. The ribbed smoke glass globe measures approx.
