Victorian Bradley & Hubbard Hanging Library Oil Lamp Pansy Hand Painted Shade

Offering this Victorian Brass Bradley & Hubbard Hanging Oil Lamp which had been previously electrified with old fabric covered wire which has been cut off and will need new wiring or need a burner to convert back to oil. It still has a very usable looking 20th C. Socket where the burner would be, it doesn't appear that they did any modification to the lamp fount to electrify it, and so could be easily converted back to oil.

The beautifully decorated pansy and leaf painted milk glass shade has a 14 fitter and a brass crown for the top. This sale includes the frame, the shade with crown, the glass chimney, a generous supply of crystal hanging prisms, many more than needed for this lamp alone, (some have never been unwrapped from their original tissue paper wraps, and some are dusty and need to be cleaned), the chains for hanging, the upper circular crown piece (which hold more prisms) and an embossed ceiling cap to attach to the ceiling. This does NOT have a pull down motor device to adjust height.

The original nicely embossed fount is marked B & H on the embossed area as well as on the filler cap, and is in excellent condition, with no apparent wear. The outer fount holder is simple and plain with an embossed beaded border around the middle and a nice cast brass finial at the bottom. No damage to the frame or to the shade. The floral attachment screws are all original. A small amount of the chain at the very top does not match the lower chain (which is original) and is probably replaced.
