This is one of several fixtures that I have which were salvaged from the courthouse in my town. The courthouse was built in 1918.
This fixture could also have come from the old courthouse that was tore down in 1917. This fixture has the top shade at 20" in diameter and 4" tall. The pendant globe is 9" tall, and 12" in diameter. The fixture weighs about 20 pounds. The height of the ceiling cap, linking chain, and the fitter is 16.
The overall height of the fixture from the ceiling cap to the bottom of the pendant globe is approximately 34. The lower pendant globe is attached to the upper shade by hardware that has 3 arms that attach to the inner socket shield. The porcelain socket is for use with the wide base type bulb to accompany a 300 watt bulb or using a standard size bulb with the base socket adapter (as shown in picture). This is an original fixture with all original parts except the wiring that has been changed at some time.
The only noticeable flaws are an air bubble hole in the glass of the upper shade and a short stress crack, both shown in pictures. I would suggests that this fixture be rewired to today's electrical standards. The last 2 pictures shows the original hardware and mounting on the globe.
