Vintage Oil Rain Grist MILL Moving Water Wheel Hanging Swag Light Lamp
VINTAGE OIL RAIN GRIST MILL MOVING WATER WHEEL HANGING SWAG LIGHT LAMP One of the most beautiful lamp design concepts ever. This is a medium size vintage rain oil lamp in good vintage condition. This particular light is the Grist Mill with the moving water wheel.
Its a antique brass color. The awesome grist mill is in amazing working condition as well. This light has its original foliage in it along with some added hanging foliage that i added to it. The Grist Mill is surrounded by two rows of mystical falling rain lighted from above.
This light has been totally cleaned and prepped inside and on the outside. If you have never cleaned one of these lamps they will test the patience of even the most rock steady unshakeable's. I have cleaned and serviced many of these lamps and please believe me when I say, the hard part is done,, you may choose a different light and decide to tackle the job yourself of dismantling, cleaning & servicing but don't say I didn't warn you....
this light has already been cleaned, tested, works great and in good vintage condition and ready to enjoy straight out of the package. The light is in good working condition.String has been replaced with new string. There is patina scattered throughout the metal finish just from age. The bottom portion of the light has faded some and there is some scraping on the bottom button. The Light has a chipped portion on the outer bottom rim (pictured) so I have added folaige to hide the imperfection.
Please see last 2 pics. There are 3 screws total that connect the bottom pan that holds the mineral oil. The motor runs smoothly with the typical humming noise associated with these lights.
The light takes a few seconds to start flowing, as it is filling the top detainment can plus the mill tube. These lights pump from the bottom up to the top and the mineral oil is gravity dropped down the nylon strings and simulates rain beautifully. This light is the medium edition, measuring approximately 31" inches in length x 12" in diameter. Cord/ chain measures approximately 8-10 ft.
Light holds approximately 1 pint of mineral oil. Cord and plug are in good vintage condition as well with a roller on/ off switch on the cord. You will need approximately 1 pint of mineral oil found in any Wal-Mart or pharmacy in the laxative section and is very inexpensive. The light will be ready to set up out of the box, you may need to rearrange the hanging folaige to your liking. You will need to add your new mineral oil by simply pouring it into the bottom of the light through the drain holes and then turn it on. The light takes about 1-2 minutes to start flowing fully and then this beautiful piece of functional art comes to life! Please ask any and all questions you like.
