It hung to low above our dinning room table to be feasible to install. Pass the bread and ohh....... There's a lamp in my soap. But I do know is this thing is incredible.
Both visually and in character. The pastor there told me it had gone through almost a dozen changes since he had been involved in the church. With parts taken from and added to over the many decades he called the light "Frankenlamp" He was born in the church parish in 1929. He was an altar boy in the late 1930's went to the seminary in the mid 40's and later came back to head that parish as the head pastor. He retired in 2007 at the age of 77.He insisted on blessing everything that left the parish that day. So I can attest to the fact this lamp has good "MOJO". During the early 90s it was updated to electricity again and can now uses a bulb. It is wired with an electric cord but you would probably have to do some work to make sure it's safe to be plugged in.
There is a cord but it has no plug on the end. Rewiring would definitely be a good idea. As I said, it is a spectacular, ornate light fixture like I've "never" seen before and I should know, I was punished with 16 years of Catholic schooling myself. I would love to know it would be going into your beautiful, caring home and continue to last for generations to come. Please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have.
